Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 23, 2026 · Final language pending legal review.
Your trust matters. This policy explains what Savannah In My Pocket collects, why, and the control you have over it.
What we collect
- Account email — the email address you sign up with, plus your name if you provide it.
- Trip preferences — your taste-quiz answers, saved places, and itinerary, used to personalize recommendations.
- Location pings — your approximate location while you use in-city features (like nearby suggestions), only when you grant location permission.
- Notification token — if you turn on notifications, an identifier for your browser or device so we can send them. Our notification provider holds it on our behalf.
- Fraud-check record — a one-way coded copy (a "hash") of the random ID the app creates when it is installed, of your notification ID, and of each email address your account has used. Only our servers read it; businesses and destination organizations never see it.
- Purchase records — orders and VIP pass purchases, so we can show your history and honor your perks.
- Launch list — if you join our list on the website, the email address you give us and, if you choose to tell us, whether you’re visiting Savannah or live here. We use it only to tell you when the app launches and to send you news about Savannah events and deals.
How we use it
To personalize recommendations, run features you use (itinerary, reservations, VIP perks), keep your account working, and improve the app. The fraud-check record is used only to confirm that deal claims and visits reported to businesses and destination organizations are genuine.
What we share
We share aggregate, de-identified analytics with the destination marketing organization for your city — visitor trends and popular places, never your identity. We never sell your personal data. Service providers (hosting, payments, notifications) process data only on our behalf.
Your choices
- Turn location access off anytime in your device settings — in-city features simply fall back to city-wide results.
- Turn notifications off anytime in your browser or device settings.
- Stop update emails anytime: every update includes a way to unsubscribe, or email hello@savinmypocket.com.
- Email hello@savinmypocket.com to ask what data we hold about you.
Account deletion
Email hello@savinmypocket.com from your account email to request deletion. We remove your account and personal data within 30 days, except records we are legally required to keep.
Retention & security
We keep your data while your account is active. The fraud-check record is kept while your account exists and deleted with it. Data is encrypted in transit, and payment details are handled entirely by our payment provider.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
